OUR STORY

Founded in 1991, in a small industrial unit in Alfama, Lisbon, INOVACRIL began its journey with a commitment to innovate in the acrylics sector. Two years later, in 1993, the company acquired its factory in Sobral de Monte Agraço, 25 km from Lisbon, where it modernised its facilities and expanded its production capacity.

Over the decades, INOVACRIL has established itself as a benchmark in customised acrylic solutions, standing out for its quality, technological innovation and commitment to sustainability. With an international presence, the company serves a wide range of sectors with innovative solutions. In 2023, INOVACRIL implemented the ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 22000 (Food Safety) standards and obtained certifications that reinforce its credibility as a leader in the sector in Portugal and strengthen its position in international markets through the components it manufactures for its clients.

1. Background

Inovacril - Acrylic Concept, dedicated to the development and manufacture of acrylic materials for food use, recognises its responsibility for guaranteeing the safety, legality and quality of the products it supplies.

2. Purpose of the Policy

The Food Safety Policy establishes the principles and commitments that guide all of the company's activities with a direct or indirect impact on the food safety of its products.

The aim is to ensure that all materials produced are safe, compliant with applicable legislation, and consistent in quality and food safety, contributing to the trust of our clients and end consumers.

3. Management Commitment

The Management of Inovacril - Acrylic Concept:

  • Commits to a culture of product safety, promoting a proactive approach throughout the organisation.
  • Ensures that all human, technical and financial resources needed to implement and maintain the Product Safety Management System are available.
  • Appoints the Organisation and Information Systems Manager as responsible for implementing and maintaining the system, with the authority to act on behalf of Management.
  • Ensures that all employees understand their individual and collective responsibilities in complying with this policy.

4. Principles of the Food Safety Policy

Our policy is based on the following core principles:

4.1 Product Safety

  • Documented Information – Information that must be controlled and maintained by the organisation.
  • Acrylic materials intended for food contact will be manufactured in accordance with applicable legal requirements, such as Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004, Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 and Regulation (EU) 2025/40, ensuring safety, stability and the absence of migration of hazardous substances into food.
  • Overall and specific migration tests will be carried out as needed.
  • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles will be applied.

4.2 Legality

  • We will comply with all applicable national and EU legislation, as well as regulatory and contractual requirements agreed with clients.
  • We will continuously monitor legislative changes relevant to our sector.

4.3 Quality

  • Quality will be built into every process, with a focus on preventing defects and strictly meeting the technical specifications of the products.
  • Quality objectives will be set, reviewed periodically, and performance indicators implemented.

4.4 Authenticity and Product Defence

  • A food defence plan will be developed and maintained, with risk assessment and mitigation measures.
  • A food fraud prevention plan will also be implemented, based on an assessment of the vulnerability of the supply chain.

4.5 Effective Communication

  • Effective and transparent communication will be promoted with all interested parties: clients, suppliers, authorities and employees.
  • We have established internal and external communication channels to ensure that all critical information relating to product safety is shared in a timely manner.

5. Food Safety Culture

The company is committed to:

  • Promoting a strong and positive food safety culture, through training, awareness and leadership.
  • Assessing and reviewing annually the effectiveness of the organisational culture relating to product safety.
  • Encouraging open communication and the participation of all employees in identifying and resolving risks or non-conformities.

6. Training and Competence

  • All employees will receive ongoing training appropriate to their roles, including specific training on food safety, FSSC 22000, good manufacturing practices (GMP), hygiene and HACCP.
  • An annual training plan will be maintained, with attendance records and effectiveness assessments.

7. Continuous Improvement

Inovacril - Acrylic Concept is committed to the continuous improvement of its quality and food safety management system, through:

  • Management reviews.
  • Regular internal audits.
  • Corrective and preventive actions.
  • Data analysis and client feedback.

8. Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed annually or whenever significant changes occur in the company's process, structure or context, ensuring its continued suitability.
